Bullimah Beach
CENTRAL COAST
Waves crash at Bullimah Beach
Bullimah Beach located in the heart of the Central Coast’s Bouddi National Park is a treasure to behold. You will find this beach nestled between Gerrin Point and Putty Beach along the Bouddi Coastal Walk. The Bouddi Coastal Walk is an adventure all on its own and I highly recommend you check it out. This beach can only be reached on foot and you will need to walk approximately 30 minutes along the Coastal Walk from Putty Beach before arriving here.
Bordered by steep cliffs on either side and a sloping bush scape to the West Bullimah Beach feels like you’ve just discovered a beach known only to yourself. Border by rock shelves near the shore massive waves break in all directions and is truly a sight to behold. The waves that break on shore are relatively calm this beach in not recommended for swimming. Still, this does not stop families venturing down to spend the afternoon with a picnic and a careful wade in the waters nearest the shore line.
If you cast your eyes out over the Pacific Ocean you will see the Barrenjoey Lighthouse which marks the Northern most tip of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
On the day that I came here with my kids there families relaxing and kids playing in the water under the watchful eye of their parents. To the North there were people walking along the rocks of Gerrin Point. I remember the wind was especially strong and the waves crashed on the rocks and cliffs along the coastal walk with enough force that you could feel the ocean spray.
I remember thinking as I walked back towards Putty Beach with my kids that this land is beautiful and I feel fortunate to call the Central Coast my home.
