Soldiers Beach

Catch a wave with the locals at Soldiers Beach
Soldiers Beach, situated on the South East side of Norah Head, is a popular surfing spot for long and short boarders alike. A sweeping gently curved beach, it is ideal for taking a long stroll along the water's edge. With many bush lined tracks leading down to the beach it serves as a welcome spot to cool off after a morning run or afternoon hike.
I started my morning capturing a beautiful sunrise at the Norah Head Lighthouse and found myself looking for a cafe so that I could top up on caffeine for the day. Soon I found myself pulling up to the Soldiers Beach Surf Life Saving Club which was already bustling with surfers pulling up for a morning surf. I soon had in my hand a hot cup of coffee from the Kraken Kiosk, so I decided to take a look at this iconic beach.
The waters along Soldier's Point were teeming with surfers and body boarders angling to catch the next wave. I soon forgot about my coffee and decided to get the drone up to capture the action. There was so much action, in fact, I spent the majority of my time there (and the majority of my batteries) shooting video of various board riders riding waves back to shore.
I paused to snap a few photos before my drone returned to land. I took one last look around while I sipped my coffee and made a mental note to return sometime soon to capture some still shots. Soon I was in the car. Destination, the Spectacles, located at the Entrance North.
