CENTRAL COAST

The Entrance is a vibrant hub of the Central Coast

Welcome to “Karagi”. Karagi or “The Entrance” as it is known today was the name given to the land along the south bank of the channel where the Pacific Ocean feeds into Lake Tuggerah.

The Entrance is a popular holiday destination with the first holiday home established in 1885. Tourists descend on this idyllic peninsula for the beautiful beaches, Lake Tuggerah, Mardi Gras, fishing, pelican feeding and the bustling town centre. Its proximity to the Hunter Valley vineyards makes The Entrance popular among holiday makers and wine enthusiasts alike.

The Coast to Lake Scenic Walk is another great way to enjoy The Entrance. If you’re into hiking or long walks this sign posted tour of The Entrance is a great way to see the beaches along the coast, Long Jetty at Lake Tuggerah and the saltmarsh leading North up to the Picnic Point Reserve.

Spend the day or spend the week; The Entrance will not disappoint.

The Entrance is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes north of Sydney.
